As a Clinical Liaison, you will have the ability to use your clinical skills while working in a strategic business environment.
Successful Liaisons will educate the community about the services provided by Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and will develop and maintain positive relationships with families, caregivers, medical professionals and the communities we serve.
Through the building of long term relationships, the Liaison will facilitate the identification and assessment of medically appropriate patients for potential admission to Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center departments.
- Works with the facility’s marketing and sales team to bring awareness of the facility’s strengths and services into the community at large.
- Establishes the patient’s eligibility of care.
- Communicates with the families of patients.
- Interacts with a variety of hospital staff from different departments.
- Assesses patients upon admission to the hospital or medical facility.
- Reviews patients’ medical records.
- Determines whether a patient should be admitted to the hospital or if their health issue can be handled on an outpatient basis.
- Explains care options to patients and their families.
- Works with healthcare facility to schedule doctor visits and therapy sessions for patients.
- Coordinates with healthcare facility staff to ensure that each patient has a smooth transition through the discharge process and back to the home environment.
- Verifies health insurance coverage for patients.
- Trains new employees who serve as clinical liaisons.
- Coordinates communication between patients and their physicians, case managers and other medical staff. Develops relationships in the community on behalf of the medical facility.
- Schedules speaking engagements at community events.
- Other duties as assigned per administrator / DON.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education
Licensed Vocational Nurse preferred
Preferred Education
- Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Health Care, Public or Business Administration or Social Work is preferred.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
- Practical experience in a clinical setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work in a union environment.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation
- Current Los Angeles County Fire Card required (within 30 days of employment).
- Current California LVN or RN license preferred.
