Our team is seeking a Field Director to oversee a door-to-door canvassing operation in multiple battleground districts. The Field Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the program, including multiple teams of canvassers and field organizers, executing field plans, and ensuring program success.
The primary focus of this position will be reaching voter contact goals, maintaining accurate data reports, and providing comprehensive training.
This position requires in-person meetings and travel within their assigned district.
Responsibilities :
- Assist in the development of the paid canvass program, including identifying goals, program systems, and schedules.
- Recruit and train Field Organizers and Canvassers to successfully knock doors.
- Manage day-to-day operations across the program and teams, such as Recruitment, Quality Control, Training, etc.
- Set, meet, and exceed benchmarks for door knocking.
- Implement and maintain a robust system to monitor and document the program's quality.
- Ensure all shifts are launched and hit defined field goals.
- Meet all data and field reporting deadlines.
- Enforce COVID-19 regulations.
- Track hours for staff payment purposes.
- Conduct extensive training and development on best practices for organizing, canvassing, and recruitment.
- Review nightly data from canvassing to monitor the program's progress and quality, and flag potential problems to the Field Manager as they are identified.
- Address program issues and concerns in a timely manner.
Qualifications :
- Work authorization is required.
- 3+ years of experience in management or related fields.
- A smartphone and laptop are required.
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Must be available to work weekends and irregular hours.
- Knowledge of campaign and canvassing strategy.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, showing attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; successful at motivating staff to meet recruitment and voter contact goals.
- Outreach and partnership building with other progressive organizations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.
- Experience with using voter file management systems is preferred but not required.
