Job Summary :

The Director of Quality will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our organization. This position requires a seasoned quality professional with a strong automotive background, extensive problem-solving skills, Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, and a proven track record of success in driving down production and field quality issues, reducing cost of poor quality, and enhancing overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Quality Leadership : Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with industry best practices and company objectives.
  • Problem Solving : Utilize a wide range of problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate production issues and enhance product quality.
  • Cost Management : Understand the cost implications of quality failures and poor production practices. Develop strategies to minimize scrap rates and warranty costs while optimizing production efficiency.
  • Communication : Maintain effective communication channels with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met.

Develop and manage scorecards to track and communicate quality metrics.

  • Quality Tools : Expertly implement top-quality and production tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and layered process audits to monitor and improve production processes.
  • Design and Process Control : Lead the development of robust design and process control plans. Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (A Master's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Engineering is preferred).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality management experience in the automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.
  • Proven track record of success in improving product quality and reducing warranty costs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement quality management systems.
  • Experience with scrap rate reduction strategies.
  • Proficiency in Score Card development.
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
