Job Description
POSITION DETAILS :
- Position will utilize AutoCAD 14 (or higher), Autodesk Plant 3D, AutoCAD Recap and CADWorx
- Projects will include new piping systems and retrofit projects
- Equipment / Facility layout, effective / economic pipe routing and production of fabrication isometrics
- Designer will pull measurements, perform surveying and be able to use high def laser scanning
- Designer will evaluate Scope of Work utilizing P IDs and Piping Systems Design Specifications to produce manhour budgets and MTOs
- Position will utilize knowledge in Mechanical Equipment and Piping Systems
- Designer will perform field investigations and equipment / layout verification
- Designer will ensure appropriate documentation is maintained per company and client guidelines
- As Lead of the Piping Design Team, be able to execute the project scope within budget and on schedule
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS :
- A.A.S. or Vocational Tech School with focus on Drafting Technology preferred
- Required Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014 (or higher)
- Required Proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D and CADWorx
- Minimum (10) years' experience in Design / Drafting
- Experience in Checking role is essential
- Experience Leading a Piping Design Team on projects in Petrochemical, Specialty Chemicals, Refinery
- Field experience is preferred
- Experience in developing ISOs, BOMs, Data / Equipment Lists
- Knowledge of construction methods and installation of equipment
- Depth of knowledge in industry design standards to comply with federal, state and local guidelines
- Must be able to effectively communicate with Engineering / Design Personnel as well as Construction / Field personnel
- Must be able to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
- Schedules may include extended work hours
- Some Travel Required
- Basic Safety Training and TWIC are preferred
