Summary
The Machinist I is r esponsible for operating CNC, conventional and special purpose machines to safely produce parts within print tolerances and work instruction procedure.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience :
- Familiar with pneumatic and hand tools
- Capable of using basic machine shop measuring tools
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Follow written work instructions and report deviations to Lead or Supervisor.
- Clean and correctly load fixtures.
- Inspect parts to data sheet.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, make basic shop calculations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs work orders initiated by planner.
- Run repetitive production programs in conjunction with deburring, inspecting, and building components.
- Checks parts for defects and mark for disposition, working to ensure best quality output possible.
- Responsible for performing TPMs corresponding to related machinery.
- Achieves daily production standards.
- Responsible for notifying supervisor or lead prior to any part shortages to maintain steady flow of parts.
- Seeks out continuous improvement opportunities for performing and completing work in the department to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Complete and maintain all required reports, records, and production documentation.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safety & continual improvement of EHS performance, registered standards, company policy, integrity, ethics, and legal compliance.
- Complies with all quality assurance procedures and policies to ensure best quality product output.
- May be required to assist in surrounding departments when needed.
- Maintains stellar attendance.
- Works overtime as required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Travel : Generally, travel is not required.

Work Environment : The environment is in a manufacturing setting. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature and the employee will be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
This position may also require overtime as necessary. The company reserves the right to revise or change job duties as the need arises.
