• 5 years of tax compliance experience with filing the following Forms : 1040, 1041, Schedule C, and 1120-S (CPA or EA designation not required)
• Ability to reconcile financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss) and make book-entry adjustments for S-Corporations with revenues under $5 Million
• Ability to complete a minimum of 300 tax returns in a tax season (March to August timeframe). These returns would be low to medium level complexity
• An understanding of how to correctly interpret investment activity on a Form 1099 and Form K-1 in order to educate a client and correctly input the activity into a Form 1040
• Capability to prioritize your time on a weekly basis and complete important tasks assigned by your tax manager
• Desired Personality Characteristics : Strong work ethic, Eager to learn, able to embrace technology, enjoys being a part of a team, ability to educate clients about their specific tax situation, comfortable asking questions when you are stuck and need help with a project / tax file
• Work Location - In the office (St Louis, MO) at least 3 days / wk. Flexibility of schedule can be discussed with manager based on performance
• Benefits : $80K salary, overtime rate $60 / hour, possible bonuses based on key performance indicators, 401K eligibility, Health Insurance stipend
