The One Club for Creativity, a 501(c) organization for the advertising, design and digital marketing industries, seeks a full-time Membership Director.
The Membership Director shapes the overall vision and goals of the department, steering a team of three (two direct reports) towards increases in membership revenue, engagement and retention.
The Director is directly responsible for Corporate Membership growth, targeting prospective agencies, brands, and schools, pitching membership and closing deals.
Throughout the year, the Director maintains corporate relationships seeking to engage members in club programming. Additionally, this role helps to strategize improvements to our chapter program, our annual membership drive, events and more.
The Director currently oversees a part-time Membership Manager who tracks membership data, fulfills benefits, and performs other key tasks for the department as well as a full-time Community Manager who plans and executes monthly membership events, communicates with individual members and helps to steer our chapters.
In addition to membership, this role is the lead producer of Portfolio Night, a 21 year old global program hosted in 30+ cities across the world.
This key position will have the following responsibilities :
- Develop integrated, long-term strategies for the Membership program at The One Club.
- Grow Corporate, Individual membership and Chapters through outreach and meetings as well as presentations.
- Determine key improvements to website and systems to improve sales and member experiences, project manage implementation of solutions.
- Develop marketing lists to ensure that The One Club’s outreach is strong and well-targeted.
- Administer Membership program forms, generate acknowledgment letters, renewal requests, and membership reports; maintain an accurate system for tracking membership expiration dates and renewals.
- Oversee fulfillment of Membership benefits, with an emphasis on Corporate Member benefits.
- In collaboration with Events Director and Community Manager, plan Member cultivation events, with specific attention to organizing the Individual, Student, and Corporate Member activities.
- Identify new Member prospects, and working with Marketing / Communications, research and develop ways to successfully engage new Members and move current Corporate Members to higher levels.
- Promote local and global events to our Membership and update online events listings.
Qualifications :
Demonstrated maturity and sound judgment, ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy, and close attention to detail, when managing various data-driven projects
Self-motivated with outstanding organizational and outstanding writing skills with a proven track record at meeting / exceeding deadlines
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability and personality to work collaboratively and motivate colleagues and donors.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Membership, preferably in a management capacity at a nonprofit organization in the New York market.
- Strong networking skills, and experience approaching business professionals and soliciting support.
- Ability to manage budgets and create organized expense and year-end financial reports.
- Ability to work collaboratively with lean staff in a high-energy, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, database spreadsheets and web-based prospect research preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Salary : $85,000 per year
