Summary :
Responsible for managing the credit analyst team. This will include reviewing and monitoring the credit analyst team as they analyze commercial / business loans.
Utilize and maintain Regent Bank’s system to spread and analyze borrower’s financial statements. Work closely with commercial officers to support existing relationships and review new business loan offerings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage incoming volume and balance pipelines and assignments.
- Proactively monitor and manage the team’s performance to ensure quality credit, including analyzing and utilizing management reports, audits, and quality checks.
- Prepare summary reports, present facts, offer recommendations and assess risk associated with the commercial loan.
- Offer recommendations based on analysis concerning creditworthiness and the ability of the customer to repay loans.
- Works directly with senior market management and commercial officers in loan proposal review and assists in the creation of credit memorandums where needed.
- Prepares forecast reports to manage and determine how responsible industries will perform during the next fiscal year.
- Responsible for identifying and alerting the Chief Credit Officer to potential issues that arise through required analytical review and research.
- Reviews ongoing portfolio management for the credit team by reviewing team spreads and financial statements.
- Assist another credit analyst in daily duties to ensure proper support of the Commercial Credit Manager
- Responsible for acquisition, retention, and development of analyst talent. Manges, guides, mentors, and coaches Analysts in technical and professional skills.
- Support continuous improvement ideas, suggestions, and initiatives to increase productivity and streamline processes.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and other applicable programs. This includes up-to-date compliance training and adhering to internal procedures and controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education And / Or Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, or accounting.
- Five (5) + years of credit analyst experience required.
- Three (3) years of prior management experience required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Effective leader and solution-based problem solver
- Ability to delegate appropriately and maintain accountability in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of analytical ability and ability to understand and interpret financial concepts.
- Strong background in accounting and understanding financial concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-orientated and able to work under pressure of deadlines.
- High character, integrity, professionalism, and work ethic.
- Knowledge of Zoom or Webex meetings.
Physical Requirements :
- Must exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently.
- Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Sitting for long periods.
Working Conditions :
The working conditions are generally comfortable, with minimal exposure to noise, heat, dust, and other related items. All employees are required to maintain a neat and safe work area.
