The Purchasing Agent will maintain currentcustomer and vendor relationships and assist with inventory controlto include inventory review to reduce and eliminate any obsoletematerials.

Responsibilities :
- Maintain current customer and vendorrelationships
- Assist with inventorycontrol to include inventory review to reduce and eliminate anyobsolete materials
- Track dollar amounts ofwrite offs
- Analyze data to optimizeinventory turns and maintain sufficient inventory to meet customerdemands
- Monitor and analyze demand, productavailability, and lead times to set and maintain forecasts / usagerates
- Work efficiently with otherinternal departments in the branch
- Workclosely with Outbound Purchasing on customer inventory needs orexcesses
- Other duties asassigned
Requirements :
- High School diploma is required. Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ yearsexperience in purchasing or relevant business experience isrequired; preferably in a distribution environment
- Must be able to follow Corporate purchasingguidelines
- Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills are required
- Computerskills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Must be able to multi-task and must be detailoriented
- Must be a problem solver anddemonstrate good negotiation skills
- AS400experience is highly preferred
