GENERAL SUMMARY :
Under the general direction of the Curator, the Project Archivist will process the materials relating to celebrations held in the Town of Concord from 1825 to 2010 and create appropriate access tools.
Confidentiality :
In the course of processing records, the employee will have access to confidential documents and information. The employee will maintain the confidentiality of the same, nor disclose or use the same outside the employee's Special Collections duties and shall comply with the Society of American Archivists Code of Ethics as administered by the Curator of Special Collections.

- Duties include conducting a collection analysis, including current arrangements, formats, and condition.
- Proposes an arrangement and description scheme.
- Processes the collection including rehousing, labeling, and creating appropriate access tools according to the approved plan.
- Meets regularly with Curator to report on progress.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
None.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- ALA-accredited Masters in Library of Information Science with archival concentration required. Knowledge and experience with current archival principles and practices required.
- One year of full time or equivalent experience with processing archival collections, including institutional records and manuscript collections.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
- Knowledge and experience with current best practice in archival principles and practices; modern office procedures, practices, and computer equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work with a high level of detail; ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deal effectively with interruptions.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Normal office environment, not subject to extreme variations of temperature, noise, odors, etc. Majority of work is performed in a quiet office environment, with constant interruptions.
Frequently subjected to the demands of other individuals and the volume and / or rapidity with which tasks must be accomplished.
Operates computer, printer, audio-visual equipment, calculator, telephone, copier and all other standard office equipment requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
Balancing, crouching, grasping, pulling, reaching and stooping is also intermittently required.
