Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wastewater Technician to join our team! In this role you'll be performing a variety of tasks associated with operation and maintenance of the groundwater recovery and treatment facilities.
Follow guidance from established operational procedures as well as safety and environmental standards and regulations to maintain effective operation of treatment systems.
Collect data to assess system operational performance, tabulate data, and report to others team members. Also responsible for supervising subcontractors assisting with equipment repairs and maintenance, and performing environmental remediation activities.
Applicant may be asked to assist with ongoing or future environmental investigations / remedial actions by collecting soil and groundwater samples.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Operate the wastewater treatment facilities to ensure effective operation to achieve specific standards;
- Monitor unit processes and adjust flow rates, chemical feed rates and other variables to maintain desired operational performance;
- Diagnose problems and perform routine maintenance of treatment facility and production well equipment to assure proper operations;
- Engage and / or assist in the emergency repair and maintenance of treatment equipment, pumps, motors, sensing devices, instrumentation, and electrical equipment;
- Monitor operating conditions and notify team Lead Operator and others when maintenance and repair work is needed;
- Monitor and maintain chemical and equipment inventories to ensure their accuracy and readiness for service;
- Collect and record operational data on equipment and plant operations and prepare written records and reports as required;
- Coordinate the transportation, segregation and storage of wastes generated in accordance with established Company, local, state and federal environmental and safety regulations
- Clean and maintain treatment plant grounds as necessary to ensure safe working environment and compliance with O&M requirements;
- Respond to call outs and after hours emergencies if required;
- Understand and adhere to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions;
- Notify team Lead Operator and others of conditions that have the potential to create permit violations or negatively impact system performance; and
- Assist with the collection of samples from treatment systems as directed by Lead Operator and make adjustments as required.
- Assist as needed with occasional ongoing environmental investigations or remedial actions. This may involve contractor oversight and collection of soil and groundwater samples.
What Required Skills You'll Bring :
- High School diploma, or equivalent, and 17+ 6-9 years of related work experience, or a 2-year degree in a related field with 15+ 4 to 6 years of experience.
- Completion of a 40-hour OSHA training course (with an annual 8-hour update) is required for industrial or hazardous wastewater operations.
- Obtain TWIC card
- Must meet requirements of our Fit for Duty program
- Ability to walk on uneven surfaces. Bend, knell or climb
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Salary Range :
