GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with medical and executive leadership to provide effective delivery of ambulatory clinic-based health care. Provides oversight, support and leadership of the nursing team, including Medical Assistants, to guide their success in providing high quality patient care and achieving corporate and site-specific goals and objectives.
Responsible for the overall supervision, coordination and performance of team members. Leads workforce development activities for the nursing team to include recruitment, on-boarding, training, competencies, peer review, and professional development.
Supervises staff performance of lab, imaging, vaccine / medication administration and infection control practices including staff development and quality improvement initiatives.
Effectively manages medical clinic inventory, supplies and equipment to support high-quality patient care. Provides leadership over grants and programs as assigned and leads clinical initiatives to meet Joint Commission and HRSA standards.
Participate in and provides leadership to corporate committees as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Idaho R.N. license.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a nursing director / manager position.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role in nursing operations.
- Experience with accreditation standards such as Joint Commission and NCQA.
- Working knowledge of RN and Medical Assistant competencies / requirements.
- Strong analytical and effective creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Able to establish and maintain effective team-based working relationships Ability to set priorities, be organized, and be a self-starter.
- Ability to develop and support subordinates and provide strong leadership.
- Able to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities and tasks.
- Able to remain calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Idaho Nurse Practitioner license.
- Five or more years experience directing / managing nursing operations.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Nursing.
- Experience working with a wide variety of patient populations, including patients living in poverty and individuals of minority groups.
- Experience working within a community health center or related clinical setting.
- Bilingual abilities (English / Spanish).
