VPG Construction is a full-service general contractor in Greater Baton Rouge area. We are looking for a site superintendent who can manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will be well-versed in the following :

• Assist with procurement and subcontractor negotiations
• Keep daily field logs
• Client and subcontractor interface
• Project schedule Microsoft Projects
• Weekly progress meetings with owners
• Weekly coordination and schedule meetings with subcontractors
• Schedule subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion
• Monitor subcontractor production and work progress against the construction schedule
• Manage material ordering and deliveries
• Ability to recognize drawing conflicts and field issues and submit RFI’s to the design team
• Maintain a clean job site
• All superintendent functions

Qualifications :

The Ideal candidate will have ten years of experience in a Supervisory capacity managing similar construction projects. They will ideally have extensive experience in retail grocery, mixed-use retail, and commercial projects.

Specific experience and skills requirements of the position are :

• Strong communication and motivational skills.
• Excellent supervisory and field coordination skills.
• Computer literate with emphasis on Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS operating systems
• Clear Oral communication skills, English and Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of Cal OSHA safety requirements.
• Thoroughly knowledgeable in the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of divisions of work.

• Ability to be an initiative-taker and have strong time management skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and handle multiple priorities.
• Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed and delegate authority.
• Ability to work both with minimal supervision and as a team player.

Requirements

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to be insured as an authorized driver for the Company.
• Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
