I'm working with a company that are revolutionizing LiDAR systems by pushing the boundaries of design and innovation. They are currently developing a groundbreaking platform that unlocks superior performance and empowers companies to build exceptional LiDAR solutions.
This role offers you the opportunity to be a key player in developing a revolutionary optical MEMS product focusing on LiDAR.
You'll leverage your expertise in optical design, system architecture, and LiDAR technology to shape the future of this game-changing technology.
Responsibilities :
- Design and optimize innovative LiDAR systems through trade studies, link budget analysis, and modeling.
- Utilize commercial and in-house simulation tools to evaluate and optimize electro-optical systems.
- Develop creative solutions to overcome technical challenges and advance LiDAR design concepts.
- Translate complex system-level specifications into clear and actionable subsystem requirements.
- Design optical subsystems for both monostatic and bistatic systems.
- Collaborate on the development and validation of comprehensive testing strategies for optical and LiDAR systems.
Key Requirements :
- Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Optical Engineering (preferred).
- Proven track record working in the LiDAR industry or a relevant field.
- In-depth understanding of various LiDAR topologies and their functionalities.
- Strong background in optical system design and testing
- Ability to travel 25% of the time to Los Angeles / San Francisco (remote work possible with travel requirement).
Nice to haves :
- Experience with embedded systems utilizing FPGAs for signal processing is a plus
- Proficiency in Zemax or a similar optical design software is a plus.
