The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs. We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and ethical Auditor-Internal to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, compliance, and governance processes. This position is crucial in safeguarding company assets and ensuring operational efficiency and financial integrity.

Minimum Qualifications :

Six years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following : accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following : accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR A bachelor's degree plus a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics plus two years of experience in accounting or auditing. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION : Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

• The ability to be consistent, honest, and a trustworthy steward of state resources.

Position-specific details :

Appointment Type : Probational or Promotional. The chosen application will be required to take a probationary appointment. Location : The Auditor-Internal position is located at the Louisiana Special School District. Work Schedule : Typically, work hours are 8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m. Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules may be available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position for which you are applying.
