Opening / Selling Statement - The Innovation Lab aims to develop a design studio that advances early-stage concepts through competition research, prototyping, business design, and development.
In this role, you will work as part of a dynamic team responsible for the delivery of new products and services from idea through Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
This position is responsible for technical development for our innovation environment, providing architectural, development, and operational support for multiple concepts at various levels of maturity.

This position is responsible for the early-stage technical design, architecture definition, and initial scoping for MVP of new greenfield business concepts.
Required Skills -
- Be able to speak with the business, design requirements, architecture ideas on whiteboard, estimate cost (understanding projects from a business perspective), and talk conceptually about technical challenges.
- Be involved in design, development, testing, and integration of multi-module applications.
- Cloud architecture.
- Past experience with Azure / AWS - Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Hands-on technical skills with architect level in constructing Service Oriented Architectures (SOA).
Job Duties -
- Supporting concept owners through the prototyping and product design with a strong point of view of engineering and technical capabilities.
- Evaluate a variety of options tech stacks, vendor packages, partner relationships - in the course of early-stage product concepting and technical design.
- Ability to understand financial implications of design choices and ability to estimate MVP and total build costs and ongoing operating costs as well as unit costs per customer.
- Communication skills to defend design choices and tradeoffs to business leaders and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with innovation development teams to develop and enhance services and tools to improve efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to enhance system reliability and performance.
- Cooperate with enterprise architects to align cloud infrastructure development with the overall IT strategy and ensure compliance with architectural and security standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system design, architecture, configuration, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving reliability, scalability, and automation of our systems and processes.
Job Requirements -
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Real-world knowledge of modern SaaS application delivery at scale - including cloud deployment options, LLMs, AI / ML libraries, and frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify points of failure and bottlenecks.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Desired Skills & Experience -
- Certifications in Agile Frameworks - Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.
- Financial services industry experience.
- It would be beneficial if the engineering lead could provide some sample architecture diagrams that they have created in the past to demonstrate their thinking and the types of applications they have worked on.
