Northwestern University Settlement seeks a dedicated professional with an appreciation for our mission. Under the supervision of the Early Head Start Lead teacher this position is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of education plans that are designed to meet the needs of each individual child enrolled in our program in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards, NAEYC Standards, and Community Partnership CPS.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
Assist with creating a classroom atmosphere where children can develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
Use a creative curriculum for infants, toddlers, and twos in the classroom that meets individual needs
Provide a learning environment that is developmentally and culturally appropriate
Assist the Lead Teacher with planning and creating educational activities
Regularly schedule onsite and home visits to access the needs of the child to create a individualized Education Plan
Must attend staff development trainings, workshops, and conferences
In addition to the duties expressly provided above, the Early Head Start Teacher Assistant shall from time to time perform such other duties and functions as assigned by their direct supervisor.

Education / Experience
Associate degree in Early Childhood Development or Child Development
Illinois Gateways ECE / IT Credential Level 4
American Red Cross First Aid / CPR Certification
Compensation
