- Communicates and enforces Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regulations, state and local regulations, and company policies.
- Demonstrates driver-guide techniques and maintenance duties.
- Conducts behind the wheel training sessions.
- Evaluates student driver's abilities and training progress and documents student driver's skills progress.
- Reports trainees progress to management on a regular basis.
- Maintains records in the appropriate logs.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have completed two seasons with HAP Alaska-Yukon, as a Driver Guide operating a motor coach, or if an applicant has held a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) for at least two years (with passenger endorsement and air brakes) must have completed one season with HAP
- Must possess a current, valid, Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with passenger endorsement, and air brakes
- Must have a clean driving record that meets company safety standards. Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) is required.
- Must be certified as physically qualified through a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Company certification as Instructor-Trainer is required.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum age of 21 is required.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check.
- Participates in HAP’s sustainability program, aka Sustain Alaska & the Yukon , and efforts by actively recycling (where available), reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.
- Participate in HAP’s safety culture to ensure a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for all guests.

- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princes s is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
- Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
- You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, supervise trainees.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
- Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
- Ability to stand / walk / work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
- Ability to work in varied temperatures outdoors (temps may reach as low as -20 degrees).
