CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Generation & Energy Management Team at our office in either Albany, NY;
Syracuse, NY; Rochester, NY; or Boston, MA.
YOUR IMPACT
CHA is a leader in sustainable district energy, power and thermal generation systems. Our approach includes critical systems that are maintainable and operable with redundant, fail-safe backups.
Our expertise encompasses gas turbines, steam turbines, reciprocating engines, gas plants, biomass plants, coal-fired boiler plants, chiller plants, high-voltage substation, and more.
From the early stages of master planning and permitting through comprehensive detailed design, we partner with our clients to create solutions that provide reliable, sustainable energy.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer has extensive engineering knowledge and may provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the respective field of engineering.
The professional in this role leads the technical execution of projects within their discipline regardless of the size or complexity of the project.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design development, implementation and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs.
More specifically, the professional in this role plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates details phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
Additionally, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is able to recognize technical discrepancies and make the appropropriate corrections following standard procedures as well as recommend alterations to development and design.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related required; Master's degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Minimum 10 years' progressive engineering experience required
- Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
- Proficient in MS Office software required
- Understands QA / QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
- Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
- Familiar with and advocates for the company's standards for quality control and compliance
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Active participation in a professional engineering society / organization preferred
- Proven ability to lead a team
- Other duties as assigned
