The Community Engagement Director oversees local outreach partnerships, ministries, and projects to maximize EFCC’s engagement and Kingdom impact in Escondido and SD County.

• EFCC is effectively engaging the Spanish-speaking community of Escondido.
• Cultivate Community Partnerships
• EFCC is well-known, well-networked, and well-respected as an effective partner in transforming our community.
• Our community partners feel connected, supported, and empowered through their partnership with our church.
• EFCC is engaged in collaborative outreach efforts in Escondido and SD county that are effective and aligned with our church’s vision.
• Our campus is increasingly used as a gathering place for community partners and service providers.
• Leverage Our Community Impact Through Love Esco
• LE is growing in scope and quality through growing partnerships, projects, initiatives, and events.
• LE is the go-to volunteer platform in Escondido, effectively engaging both EFCC and non-EFCC volunteers.
• LE platform enables new partnerships, synergies, and ways to add value for all partners and volunteers.
• LE serves as an inspiring model of best practices.
• Empower Volunteers and Manage Support Systems
• Volunteer leaders are equipped and empowered to lead in their areas of passion and skills.
• All outreach volunteers are being intentionally discipled towards their next step on mission.

Keys to Succeeding and Responsibilities

• Develop Community Outreach Ministry Teams (20%)
• Recruit, develop, and support volunteer leadership teams.
• Review and implement effective growth plans for each outreach focus area in collaboration with the Community Outreach Advisory Team (COAT).
• Maximize opportunities for holistic transformation of clients and providers in the community through effective partnerships based on best practices.
• Collaborate with En Espanol team to develop effective ways of engaging the Spanish-speaking community.
• Cultivate Community Partnerships (10%)
• Cultivate relationships with key community leaders and stakeholders in local government, community organizations, schools, nonprofits, and churches.
• Perform regular on-site visits and 1 : 1s with EFCC’s community outreach partners.
• Collaborate with COAT to assess partner effectiveness, provide coaching, care, and support as needed.
• Collaborate with Comms Team to maximize opportunities to promote EFCC in the community.
• Create Outreach Opportunities Through Love Esco (50%)
• Develop and manage LE projects and initiatives.
• Develop effective volunteer engagement strategies.
• Grow and manage LE partnerships and sponsors in collaboration with Love Esco board.
• Promote and represent Love Esco in the community.
• Manage Love Esco promotions and social media.
• Empower Volunteers and Manage Support Systems (20%)
• Recruit, train, and empower volunteer leaders and teams.
• Ensure appropriate next steps for all EFCC volunteers.
• Manage tracking of all community outreach activity, volunteer engagement, and impact.

Requirements

• Reports To : Pastor of Outreach Ministries
• Direct Reports : Volunteer Team Leaders
• Time Commitment : 40 hours per week, plus :
• Weekly Outreach Team meetings
• Monthly 1 : 1s with the Outreach Pastor.
• Participation in All-Staff meetings and other meetings / retreats as necessary
• Weekend outreach events as required.
• Participation in the life of the body through worship gatherings, etc.

Qualifications :

• Commitment to EFCC’s Statement of Faith, Mission, & Values
• College degree in a relevant field.
• Strong communication & people skills. Spanish preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience working in community outreach.
• Embodies the following descriptive words : developer, proactive, strategic, potential-seeker, organized, collaborative.
• Has the heart to develop others and release their potential.
