Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide broad, college-wide leadership in programming, scheduling, marketing, staffing, supporting, and assessing the college’s efforts to involve students and community members in a broad range of performing arts and cultural activities.

Responsibilities include oversight of multi-campus programming, staff, and performing arts facilities, including theatres and concert halls.

This is a temporary position beginning on August 15, 2024, and ending on June 15, 2025.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a performing arts discipline and five (5) years of experience overseeing performing arts programming and productions, budgeting, and facilities required;

Knowledge of standard performing arts practices, including technical requirements, box office, rehearsal standards, scheduling, community outreach, and reporting relationships preferred.

Experience in higher-education preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned staff including onboarding and advising.
  • Develop and manage operating budget for assigned unit college-wide.
  • Oversee operations of multiple performing arts facilities.
  • Establish goals and objectives for operations consistent with CCBC’s mission.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Develop and oversee annual college-wide arts schedule.
  • Coordinate marketing and promotion for Arts events, including community outreach.
  • Develop and manage budgets : Performing Arts and Student Government Association Performing Arts funds.
  • Set policies and supervise box office operations, donation processing, and customer relations.
  • Conceive and implement practices that ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure that production and co-curricular practices meet the standards set by the external accreditation bodies forMusic, Theatre, and Dance.
  • Approve and oversee rental of performing arts facilities and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Grants Development Office to write and manage grants, including financial and programmatic reporting.
  • Administer ongoing college residencies with arts groups and short-term residencies such as Cockpit in Court, Dundalk Community Theater, and Children’s Playhouse of Maryland.
