Description
Patriot Enterprises will provide the Army National Guard (ARNG) Military Funeral Honors (MFH) and Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) support to geographically dispersed service members and families. The SOS Regional Coordinators oversee and coordinate the activities of the Coordinators within their respective regions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assure that all SOS State Coordinators in each state / territory are appropriately maintaining and updating activity in the systems of record.
- Assure all SOS State Coordinators are properly entering work time into the contract time keeping system and assure all staff are accurately requesting travel authorization and submitting travel expense reports as required.
- Assure all SOS State Coordinators are properly trained to perform all the assigned tasks.
- Mentor and advise all staff in areas of program understanding and compliance of Army, NGB, State NG and IMCOM guidance and regulations.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in business, management, or related fieldMinimum Qualifications
At least 3 years of relevant experience providing military funeral honors, information, assistance, outreach, referral, and follow-up services to Families and survivors from all service componentsPossess a strong sense of mission, focus, knowledge, and resourcefulness related to SOSEnsure SOS State Coordinators are providing Families and survivors with financial counselling, emotional support, and connections to military and civilian resourcesPossess emotional maturity, tact, and attentive listeningHave the skills and ability to identify available resources to help Families and survivors understand their benefits, facilitate referrals for bereavement counseling, and assist with navigating programs such as VA benefits, TRICARE, and educational opportunitiesAbility to provide dignified verbal and written responses, articulate well in sensitive situations, understand verbal and nonverbal reactions, and exercise independent judgementBuild rapport with Families, Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), Casualty Assistance Officers (CAOs), military leadership, and a variety of other stakeholders and resource groups involved in meeting the needs of each Family and survivorsAbility to manage, train, mentor, and advise SOS State CoordinatorsAbility to maintain, update, and expand a directory of resources, agencies, and organizations that are available to assist military Families and survivorsProduce reports and dataUnderstand applicable Army, NGB, State NG, and IMCOM policies, regulations, guidance, SOPs, training, and resourcesUnderstand ARNG organization and structure and military cultureExperience with Microsoft Office productsSelf-starter and good time management skillsAbility to travelS. citizenship requiredAbility to pass extensive background investigation
