Position Summary
Opportunities for Housing, Resources & Assistance (OHRA) is a premier non-profit in Ashland, OR and we are looking for a Development Director to join our dynamic team.
We are a highly effective, result-driven, and mission-focused organization in need of a high-functioning, energetic, relationship builder, who is organized and committed to building a resilient philanthropy program focused on acquiring and stewarding individual and corporate relationships.
The Development Director will work with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, Resource Development Committee, OHRA’s fundraising consultant and leadership team.
This individual will be responsible for growing annual philanthropy revenue through an aggressive annual campaign always focused on expanding and enhancing community relationships.

KEY ROLES : Philanthropy
Philanthropy
- Build and implement a yearly philanthropy plan that includes identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and corporate giving.
- Expand and grow OHRA’s base of individual and corporate donors and expand community relationships throughout Jackson County to grow revenue and expand the number of donors, all while building stronger personal relationships and connections between individual and corporate donors and the guests we serve.
Strategies include, but are not limited to, creating a strong, recurring gifts and annual giving program, promoting planned giving and engaging donors through small donor engagement events.
- Support OHRA’s strategic planning of donor engagement, moves management, and increasing philanthropy capacity.
- A key focus will be on acquisition of new donors and stewardship of existing supporters ensuring that every relationship feels connected to OHRA and that their investment in our guests makes an impact.
Donor acquisition, stewardship and retention are key metrics for success.
- Work closely with Development team members to support donor communications and database management.
- Seek and secure financial support and resources by leveraging : Donor data base, Donor Perfect, and ensuring that information is accurate, timely, and stewardship protocol is followed on schedule for the donors in your portfolio.
- Attend and outreach through networking opportunities, local community and church groups, and other local opportunities to expand OHRA’s presence.
A key focus will be expanding the current portfolio of donors and the ability to network and build upon OHRA’s existing network throughout Jackson County.
- Assist in coordinating and executing philanthropy of all donor special events.
- Maintain transparency and a strong donor centric philosophy in support of our donor engagement, donor retention, major giving prospects, and stewardship strategy.
- Communicate effectively with the ED, key executive and development staff, Board of Directors, partners, consultants, and key donors.
Additional Responsibilities
- Directly accountable for managing portfolio, monitoring key philanthropy data and expanding the number of total donors that support OHRA.
- Produce regular reporting that measures performance of portfolio.
- Participates in training, webinars, workshops and professional development as requested.
- Work side-by-side with Development team, grant writer and other key staff
- Participates in key community groups, attend key community events, and promote and support OHRA’s events and / or initiatives.
- Become proficient with Donor Software & Procedures.
- Become proficient in generating reports and donor analytics as needed.
- Leverage software to grow new donor acquisition and overall portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree and have relevant work experience in relationship building, business development, growing revenue or sales, and a proven track record of successful business development and / or philanthropy.
