Responsibilities
Serve as team leader for assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
- Participate in the process of monitoring, guiding and evaluating staff performance.
- Contribute to efficient operations by assisting with coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow and promoting decision-making and problem solving.
- Perform the duties of a security officer.
- Model and promote teamwork and cooperation amongst staff.
- Review staff reports for accuracy, clarity and completeness.
- Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards.
- Address escalated or unresolved issues.
- Assist the Security Manager with shift staffing, organizational planning, budget preparation, staff development, and Committee Chair responsibilities.
- For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration :
- Drivers License credentialed from the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Security Guard obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Law Enforcement preferred.
- Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.
- Security Professional preferred.
- Security Guard specializing in Healthcare preferred.
- Security Guard specializing in Weapon Permit preferred.
Education :
High School diploma equivalency and 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree / Technical degree and 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
