Description
This full time position will work daytime hours with on call responsibilities.
GENERAL OVERVIEW :
Provides supervision of staff and area functions; serves as a physician liaison; and performs prescribed imaging and patient care services as per protocol.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform angio imaging per established protocols.
Prepares for and assists the physician while performing procedures. Prepares contrast media and / or medications within accepted scope of practice. (30%)
- Implements radiation and patient safety standards and provides technical expertise for development of protocols. (10%)
- Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols, and image distribution. Charges for supplies and maintains needed inventory for procedures. (20%)
- Assists in the management of human resources and non-labor expenses and activities for the department; maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies. (40%)
- Assists with tech scheduling, orientation and hiring of tech staff.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum
Minimum
Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year experience and / or training;
or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Radiography Certification and Registration American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CPR certification may be required upon hire.
- 3 years as a Special Procedures Technologist, preferably in Interventional Radiology.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree.
- Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification and Registration (VI)
