Our client, a small manufacturer in Walker, MI is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Bookkeeper / Office Manager to join their team.
This multifaceted role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, and excels at problem-solving without needing much direction.
You will be the sole accounting professional in the office, providing essential bookkeeping and office management support.
This position offers a high degree of autonomy, making it perfect for someone who can take initiative and focus on getting things done.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Handle month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare weekly financial reports
- Process payroll and assist with light HR administrative duties
- Generate reports for the CPA firm
- Perform light reception duties
- Invoicing
- Utilize Sage accounting software for daily operations
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a full-charge bookkeeper / Accountant in small company environment
- 2+years of payroll processing experience
- HS Diploma, (higher education preferred but not required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Familiarity with accounting software (Sage preferred but not required)
- General ledger experience
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and manage procedures without supervision
