Compensation / Rate : $14.00 - $22.00 / hourly

Location : Portland, ME

Position Summary :

We are seeking a meticulous and hardworking Yacht Detailing and Maintenance Specialist to join our team. The Yacht Detailing and Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of all vessels and the surrounding yard area and facility.

This position involves detailed cleaning and polishing the exterior and interior of vessels, performing routine inspections and minor repairs, and assisting in the prepping of vessels for deliveries to the owners.

The Yacht Detailing and Maintenance Specialist ensures yachts are in top condition for display, delivery, and that the facility is safe and efficient.

This position can be physically demanding, and may require fitting into tight spaces.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Clean and detail the interior and exterior of vessels, including washing, waxing, vacuuming, and polishing surfaces.
  • Remove dirt, grime, and stains from various surfaces, such as hulls, decks, cabins, and upholstery.
  • Inspect vessels for any damages or areas that require special attention, reporting these findings to your supervisor, and repairing damages as directed.
  • Use specialized cleaning products and tools to achieve the best possible results.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including basic maintenance, painting of buildings and grounds, and minor janitorial tasks as requested.
  • Ensure the facility is free of hazards and that equipment is properly stored and maintained.
  • Assist with the delivery and preparation of vessels for customers.
  • Communicate with customers and potential buyers regarding maintenance and detailing of the vessels.
  • Ensure accurate work order accounting by making timely entries into the time tracking and scheduling systems.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in detailing vessels is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and techniques specific to marine detailing.
  • Willingness to learn, follow directions, and change priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license.
