Nealy Pierce has been engaged by a non-profit Health System to assist in the recruitment of a System Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management .

This system is a non-profit, community-based, award-winning, 4-hospital, 26-clinic health system with a 260-bed Level II Trauma Center as its flagship campus.

This is an opportunity to come into a community-focused health system and work with some of the top professionals in healthcare to help guide and improve the Risk Management and Patient Safety program.

This position will join a very supportive, tight-knit team and report directly to the C-suite of the Health System. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, is a servant-leader, and is passionate about patient care.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides leadership to a team of professionals, focused on clinical quality outcomes
  • Provides direct oversight of the departmental staff while providing guidance to clinical staff across the system
  • Develop and maintain systems within the organization to detect, monitor, prevent, organize, measure, investigate, report, and manage patient adverse events, incident reports, and other indicators of potential patient harm
  • Will work closely with the Legal Department and Legal Counsel on the management of all malpractice claims.
  • Help the system achieve goals through improving health outcomes, increasing patient and caregiver safety, and reducing preventable errors in health care processes.

Requirements :

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Masters degree required
  • CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) or CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) certification preferred
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in Risk Management and / or Patient Safety in an Acute Hospital environment required
  • 7+ years of related experience required
