What you’ll be doing :
- Receives guidance from senior engineers and project managers.
- Applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria to provide quality engineering services.
- Performs field reconnaissance as directed.
- Conducts field logging and supports drilling program for variety of projects.
- Prepares laboratory test results and ensures proper lab procedures are followed for documentation and storage.
- Assists in subsurface investigations including borings and test pits.
- Reports to project manager / Senior engineer on related project budgets, record keeping, materials testing, and inspections.
- Communicates with other engineers, drill crews, admin personnel, sub-consultants and contractors to provide service.
- Prepares technical reports and letters.
- Ensures project reports are completed and submitted timely.
- Ensures accuracy for all items related to billing for projects.
- Maintains excellent client relations by responding promptly, etc.
- Provides input relative to needs of client to Project Manager.
- Provides stellar client service and stellar service delivery with each client interaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need to have :
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical, or related field preferred.
- Typically 0-4 years of experience.
- May have E.I.T..
- Must be detail oriented.
- Strong project or task management skills, including scheduling, execution and follow-up.
- Experience in using specialized analysis software for foundation and site assessment such as APILE, ALLPILE, SLIDE, and SETTLE3 preferred.
- Experience in technical writing, project management, and working in a complex team environment is ideal.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
- Ability to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, and within a team environment to achieve goals.
- Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
- Ability to continuously sit, stand, and walk.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work outside in frequent changes of temperatures.
- Ability to occasionally bend, squat, climb, push, and pull.
- Ability to work in environments containing dust and fumes.
- Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have valid driver’s license with good-standing driving record.
- Ability to occasionally travel overnight.
