Geotechnical Staff Engineer II

What you’ll be doing :

• Receives guidance from senior engineers and project managers.
• Applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria to provide quality engineering services.
• Performs field reconnaissance as directed.
• Conducts field logging and supports drilling program for variety of projects.
• Prepares laboratory test results and ensures proper lab procedures are followed for documentation and storage.
• Assists in subsurface investigations including borings and test pits.
• Reports to project manager / Senior engineer on related project budgets, record keeping, materials testing, and inspections.
• Communicates with other engineers, drill crews, admin personnel, sub-consultants and contractors to provide service.
• Prepares technical reports and letters.
• Ensures project reports are completed and submitted timely.
• Ensures accuracy for all items related to billing for projects.
• Maintains excellent client relations by responding promptly, etc.
• Provides input relative to needs of client to Project Manager.
• Provides stellar client service and stellar service delivery with each client interaction.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you need to have :

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical, or related field preferred.
• Typically 0-4 years of experience.
• May have E.I.T..
• Must be detail oriented.
• Strong project or task management skills, including scheduling, execution and follow-up.
• Experience in using specialized analysis software for foundation and site assessment such as APILE, ALLPILE, SLIDE, and SETTLE3 preferred.
• Experience in technical writing, project management, and working in a complex team environment is ideal.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written.
• Ability to successfully manage numerous assignments and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently, and within a team environment to achieve goals.
• Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record.
• Ability to continuously sit, stand, and walk.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outside in frequent changes of temperatures.
• Ability to occasionally bend, squat, climb, push, and pull.
• Ability to work in environments containing dust and fumes.
• Ability to frequently drive to and from work sites, must have valid driver’s license with good-standing driving record.
• Ability to occasionally travel overnight.
