We currently have an open position for a QC Chemist II in our Quality Control Department located in the Rosenberg, TX location.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products and stability samples.
- Document laboratory activity in accordance with established procedures; including reagent preparation.
- Independently perform routine testing proficiently in accordance with all pertinent SOPs and lab practices
- Process and analyze data according to established procedures.
- Review data and associated documentation for compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in investigations of anomalous or out of specification results.
- Operate analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-VIS dissolution apparatus and other analytical instrumentation.
- Perform experiments in support of method development and validation with supervision.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
- Peer review data generated by other chemists and technicians.
- Validate, verify and troubleshoot analytical methods.
- Conduct method transfers from other facilities and departments.
- Author standard operating procedures and analytical methods.
- Perform and / or assist with equipment calibrations and qualification.
- Assist laboratory management in preparation for internal, customer and agency audits.
- Mentor other chemists on good laboratory practices.
- Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Minimum 4 year degree in chemistry or related discipline.
- 4+ years experience in a chemistry laboratory
- 4+ years experience with analytical instrumentation ( e.g, HPLC, GC, FTIR).
- 4+ years experience in GLP or GMP environment.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively perform concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
