San Leandro Hospital - SLH Charge Nurse Position
Summary
Under general supervision, the SLH Charge Nurse acts as the lead person for nursing or nursing support personnel, ensuring optimal patient care in an assigned area for each shift.
The nurse plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, performing related duties as required.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
- Develops, implements, evaluates, and modifies an organizational plan for care provision.
- Performs Nurse Leader rounds to assess nursing care and personnel assignment.
- Evaluates and documents nursing care plans according to mandated criteria.
- Assists with procedures and diagnostic tests, and communicates effectively with physicians and other departments.
- Monitors and implements regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Promotes a healthy and safe environment for patients and families.
- Facilitates communication among staff, patients, and family members.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience : Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse II or equivalent in a clinical setting.
Licenses / Certifications : ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and a valid Registered Nurse license in California.
Preferred Certifications : CCRN, CEN, PCCN based on specific department requirements.
