Overview
The purpose of this job is to Lead PepsiCo Egypt BU primary plastics packaging including Resin, Preform & closures category, managing a total spend of around $100 MM, through
- Defining and executing Resin , Preforms and closures category strategy : Risk Management, Supplier Relationship Management, Innovation and Productivity,
- Measuring and Improving Performance,
- Achieving Annual Plans and Delivering Productivity.
Responsibilities
- In close collaboration with the GP S Manager , draft & implement Resin, Preforms and closures category strategy, using systematic 7 step strategic sourcing approach.
- Closely monitor upstream market movement to lock volumes, negotiate with suppliers keeping TCO approach in mind and take pro-active measures to mitigate risk.
- Engage with global COE’s, attend periodical calls, align regional needs to global plans & leverage lift & shift opportunities from other sectors.
- Participate and lead cross-functional category team, using RACI model.
- Manage category on a regional level and leverage from PepsiCo’s scale in the region.
- Work closely with Sector & Global teams : To develop category annual and long-term strategic sourcing targetsTo Ensure full compliance to Commodity PlaybookPlan and monitor category Productivity / Savings (for the current year and over SBP).
Lead continuous improvement initiatives from procurement side for the category.Evaluate & evolve sourcing strategy based on changing market conditions and provide inputs during strategic sourcing activities, including internal and external analysis and negotiations.
- Ensure category strategy is implemented, compliance monitored, and benefits tracked (in close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and in line with the procurement policy & practices
- Work closely with finance on COGS
- Work closely with Quality , R&D on new technologies exploring areas of quality improvement and saving opportunities .
- Work closely with SC team to on monthly allocation and measure suppliers performance
- Closely liaise with business Key stakeholders in beverage & food plants in region.
- Sell category strategy to business stakeholders; one focal point to represent Primary plastics category internally (peer level) and externally (suppliers)
- Ensure implementation of best-in-class sourcing tools, relevant to the category.
- Lead category negotiations and manage contracts with suppliers
- Track Preform supply markets, share evolving category trends, monitor supplier performance and share benchmarking against industry / market standards.
Qualifications
- Sourcing Experience of Beverage Packaging Materials.
- Knowledge of commodities sourcing & procuring is preferred.
- Experience in using advanced sourcing methodologies / tools.
- Experience in a regional procurement function / company.
- Experience of procurement / strategic sourcing in the Middle East & North Africa is preferable.
- Skilled in managing a dispersed team of business stakeholders in different countries; strong selling skills.
- Persuasive communication, conflict management and sharp negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degrees in Business or Engineering. Masters preferred.
- Multilingual and multinational experience preferred.
