Job Summary :
Under general supervision, provides support and assistance to Commission Specialist to facilitate reconciliation of commissions due.
Associate will prepare reports for review, verify commissions paid on each case, and follow up with insurance carriers as necessary to complete the report.
Associate with work in close collaboration with Specialist and other members of the team. All assigned job responsibilities and projects will be consistent with department policy guidelines and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Pull reports and verify commissions paid on each case
- Confirm agent appointment levels
- Obtain and maintain commission schedules
- Assist Commission Department Manager in setting up and revising special arrangements
- Data entry of cases into agency management system for permanent file
- Follow up on debit balances and review with Commission Department Manager
- Update license records as needed
- Prepare and send out commission payments to agents
- Prepare commission reports for direct relationships
- Respond to client requests for information regarding commissions paid
- Work with internal clients to resolve problems or answer questions
- Provide data integrity reports to the new business department
- Support Commission Specialist and Department Manager with daily tasks
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Knowledge of :
- Principles, practices, and procedures of general office concepts.
- Process flows within assigned functional area.
- Regulations for specific assigned functional area.
Skill in :
- Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, spreadsheets, and databases.
Ability to :
- Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both orally and writing, with internal associates and external contacts at all levels.
- Efficiently gather all relevant information to analyze, research, and resolve business issues. Analyze data to identify discrepancies.
- Problem-solve.
Educational / Previous Experience Recommendations :
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in financial services, including accounting, commissions or customer service.
Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses / Certifications :
- None required.
- Life, Health and Variable Annuities License Preferred
