The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing production schedules to ensure timely delivery while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The position requires strong leadership skills to motivate and develop production teams while ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance.
The Production Manager will also drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles and innovation to enhance efficiency.
Additionally, the role oversees the shipping and receiving operations and fosters a positive company culture. This full-time, exempt position is based in New Carlisle, IN and reports to the Director of Operations.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities :
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and motivate production teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.
- Ensure continuous training and development of team members to meet evolving production requirements and continued needs due to company growth.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes, addressing any production issues promptly.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Process Improvement
- Identify areas for improvement and lead initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
- Support and utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and other methodologies to optimize production.
- Drive innovation in production processes and adopt new technologies as needed.
Production Planning & Coordination
- Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely product delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and customer service) to maintain smooth production workflows.
- Monitor production KPIs such as efficiency, absorption, quality, and safety.
Resource Management
- Manage and allocate resources (labor, equipment, materials) to meet production targets.
- Optimize production processes to boost productivity and reduce waste.
General Responsibilities

- Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate staff performance.
- Create team schedules, delegate tasks, and set performance goals aligned with company strategy.
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring efficient processes.
- Lead continuous improvement projects on production lines and ensure production goals and deadlines are met.

Qualifications

- 4-6 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methodologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems
