Job Title : Junior ProjectEngineer
Location : EastHartford CT / Windsor CT
Job Description :
- Own the schedule cost performance and process for drivingsuccess on crossfunctional aerospace engineeringprojects.
- Manage the design and integration ofcomplex assemblies
- Host and coordinateintegrated product team meetings with key stakeholders
- Develop and participate in product designreviews
- Act as the customer representative andmain point of contact to their external customers
- Maintain an ongoing action item tracker and holdstakeholders accountable to drive ontime action itemclosure
- Generate status reports and presentproject status to external and internal stakeholders on a regularbasis
- Proactively identify project scopebudget and schedule risks and implement strategies to minimize riskand overcome project success barriers.
- Followdefined processes to update and maintain customer systems anddatabases (including PLM software) with the latest projectstatus
- Participate in adhoc projectengineering initiatives such as failure investigations (RRCAs)engineering changes (configuration management) earned valuemanagement systems (EVMS)
- Leverage yourengineering knowledge to have informed technical discussions acrossengineering groups to have a thorough understanding of technicalproject performance
- Visit customers inpersonas needed to drive project progress
- Escalateproject barriers and risks as needed
- Own andmaintain all project documentation
- Coordinatewith suppliers as needed
- Follow all requiredstandard work and adhere to all compliance and regulationrequirements
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical AerospaceEngineering or related field
- 2 year(s) ofrelevant experience
- Direct experience actingas a senior project engineer or IPT Lead
- Experience working with Teamcenter or other PLMsoftware
- Ability to proactively take action todrive ontime results
- Outstanding communicationand technical writing skills
- Excellentcustomer service skills
- Must be a U.S.Citizen
Preferred Qualifications :
- PMP Certification a bonus
- Experience managing projects through the engineeringdesign process
- An understanding of engineeringoutsourcing business practices
- Knowledge ofinspections procedures such as FPI MPI XRay etc.
- Knowledge of common metal hardware repair types such asblend repairs coating repairs welding repairs etc.
- Exposure to project or program management
- Experience writing or creating standard work establishingprocesses and documenting lessons learned
- Experience with Adobe Framemaker
