POSITION SUMMARY :

Under the general supervision of the CEO, the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) is given the necessary authority and responsibility to operate all departments assigned including the rehabilitation, counseling, behavioral and patient advocate departments.

The Chief Clinical Officer’s primary responsibilities are organizing, directing and ensuring the operational success of the rehabilitation, counseling, behavioral, patient advocacy departments and other departments as assigned.

The CCO is also responsible for the operational success of in-house programming as well as building and maintaining collaborative partnerships with outside organizations and agencies which can provide a full range of quality programs that meet the various needs of our patients.

This position is required to be accessible 24 / 7 and have the accountability of clinical service departments.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Oversees the clinical operations at the assigned facility.
  • Point of contact for physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other staff members
  • Monitor the effectiveness and results of the program and plan adjustments
  • Encourage team building activities with patients and family
  • Plan the delivery of overall patient programs and their activities by the mission and goals of the organization
  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization
  • Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training by organizational standards
  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input, and feedback
  • Supervise, hire and train staff
  • Active participation in education and mentoring of other members of the team within the scope of practice
  • Demonstrate knowledge of individual patients’ histories, current progress and personal issues or difficulties
  • Participates in weekly patient rounds and / or treatment planning as necessary
  • Participates in family conferences and other patient care conferences as needed
  • Ensures fiscal management of all departments
  • Ensures all clinical departments under ACCO direction provide appropriate services as per professional licensing acts
  • Ensures staffing appropriateness for each clinical department under ACCO’s direction
  • Demonstrates the ability to resolve and / or problem solve areas of concern or conflict with patients’ families, co-workers, or external customers in a professional, proactive and courteous manner
  • Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings to facilitate good communication flow and problem identification
  • Performs employee performance evaluations in a timely manner and ensures all required paperwork is submitted to payroll in a timely manner
  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of payroll
  • Provides appropriate awards and corrective action to staff
  • Ensures staff attends all mandatory in-services

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION :

Minimum of master’s degree in the Healthcare field from an accredited college.

EXPERIENCE :

  • Prefer 5 years of management experience in an inpatient setting
  • Knowledge of or exposure to providing assistance to persons with neurological deficits, or persons with disabilities in acute care or community re-entry program in an inpatient hospital setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of working with patients with psychiatric disorders, developmental issues is preferred

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :

  • Certified in BLS
  • Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certified
  • Maintain current professional licensure in good standing during employment with this facility
