Addison Group is partnered with a growing construction contractor on the search for an Assistant Controller. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will lead a team of five accountants responsible for the accurate and timely project and corporate accounting.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of 5 direct reports
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Review journal entries, accruals, adjustments and account reconciliations prepared by the team
- Prepare and present variance analysis
- Assist in the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes
- Manage project accounting and the related reporting for upper management
- Oversee and provide support for audits and ensure a strong control environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant field
- 6 or more years of relevant accounting experience
- Construction or manufacturing industry experience required
- Experience with work-in-progress or cost accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
