Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team in Midland, Texas. This is a Contract-to-permanent position with an oil and gas company that operates 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, with half-day Fridays. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of accounting processes and a proven track record in the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities :

Manage accounts receivable and oversee billing operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Handle the creation of new client accounts and maintain detailed client records.

Prepare and deliver financial reports to support business decision-making.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to address inquiries and resolve issues.

Coordinate supply chain activities to align with accounting processes.

Process bank reconciliations to verify account balances and transactions.

Calculate and manage sales tax filings for relevant company entities.

Utilize accounting software to streamline operations and maintain data integrity.

Requirements :

At least 10 years of accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.

Expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Familiarity with billing functions and account reconciliation.

Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule including half-day Fridays.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication abilities to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
