What is JetZero?

Today’s aircraft contribute around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, equivalent to the emissions of 200 million cars. This is only going to increase : Air travel is forecasted to double by 2050, while meaningful efficiency gains using current airplanes have hit a wall.

JetZero is developing a blended wing aircraft. It uses 50% less fuel and can accommodate zero-emission hydrogen propulsion.

This is why we're hiring a Stress Engineer, Systems. You will be responsible for analyzing and determining the structural integrity of various systems and the interactions of those systems with primary structure.

JetZero is a place for people who are ambitious, talented, and humble. This role is based in Long Beach, CA reporting to the Head of Structures.

What You'll Do

Stress Analysis - Perform analysis of systems supports and routings using hand analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and other advanced techniques.

You will identify and analyze potential failure modes and recommend design improvements.

Documentation - You will generate, review and / or approve engineering analysis and strength check notes and compliance documentation.

Requirements Management - You will work cross-functionally to ensure systems routings and support designs meet all system and aircraft-level requirements.

Schedule Management - You will work with technical experts to build and execute product development schedule, ensuring that all program and system level milestones are attained.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

5 years' experience in systems stress analysis.

Experience with software tools such as FEMAP, Siemens NX, and Abaqus preferred.

Familiarity with both static and vibration analysis.
