Payroll Accountant

Qualifications

• Two-year degree required, four-year preferred
• 2+ year of experience processing payroll in project-based accounting system
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IRS, and payroll law
• Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and accounting software. Deltek VantagePoint preferred
• Excellent mathematical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well with different personalities and professional styles
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and process weekly timesheets and expense reports
• Process per diem payments
• Enter and maintain employee information in Vantagepoint
• Process employee expense payments
• Process bonus payments
• Train new employees on Timekeeper and Expensekeeper
• Payroll tax filing and online payments for federal and state
• Generate utilization and PLT report at month end
• Prepare payroll tax accrual and reconcile account
• Reconcile and upload 401(k) reports and payment
• Download and / or pay online AP disbursements
• Manage cash spreadsheets and reconcile to G / L
• Prepare banking report for Controller
