The Opportunity
Mass General Brigham’s Investment Office manages more than $20 billion for MGB, invested primarily via partnerships with third-party investment management firms.
Strategies in the portfolio include private equity, venture capital, long-only equities, long / short equities, and real assets investments.

This is a hybrid position based in Boston / Somerville, MA.
The Investment Office seeks a highly motivated professional to manage complex portfolio and risk analytics processes. The risk manager will be a key member of the investment office supporting externally managed investment portfolios and will be responsible for several analytical initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of academic achievement, success working in a team environment to achieve common goals, and familiarity with the workings of an investment office of an institution.
Responsibilities
- Managing the Liquidity & Rebalancing program involving the modeling of future expected cash flows and portfolio characteristics for the investment pools.
- Managing long term Private Equity modeling of private asset capital calls and distributions
- Investment Committee reporting including detailed analysis of the public and private assets.
- Managing investment management fee modeling.
- Portfolio risk analyses as needed.
- Net Market Exposure Reporting : Portfolio exposure reporting, including market capitalization, industry sector, geography, etc.
- Managing the endowment distribution modeling process.
- Other analytical activities as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree (minimum); Master’s Degree in a related field a plus.
- Experience : Prefer 5-10+ years of endowment / foundation investment office experience, in areas of private equity, liquidity and risk modeling.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects and workflows across teams.
- Strong Excel skills required, including report creation, charting, pivot tables, and macros.
- Strong data handling skills required; SQL, Access, etc. a plus.
- Financial skills; educational and / or professional experience dealing with financial issues with an investment context, such as valuations, rates of return, and investment vehicles.
- Willingness and aptitude to learn a range of technologies : Advent Tamale, Burgiss Private I, Caissa, eVestment, various analytics and risk management tools.
- Strong quantitative skills.

- Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with other groups within and outside MGB.
- Excellent organizational skills.
