The Junior Graphics Designer is in charge of supporting the Marketing team with FirstService Residential.
Compensation : $23-25 / hour
Job Responsibilities :
- Graphic design, layout, and editing of newsletters, magazines, flyers, postcards, maps, digital displays, and other creative projects as assigned.
- Newsletter project trafficking.
- Tracking and coordination of incoming and outgoing newsletters and various communication projects.
- Coordination of print production.
- Vendor management; serving as a liaison with the print vendors, fulfillment / mailing house, and editors.
- Prepare and maintain production calendars.
- Communicate with community managers and clients regarding project requirements, schedule, and approval.
- PowerPoint support.
- Follows quality system procedures.
- Update assigned action items regularly and timely.
- Be trained in Connect, SuperSign, and Newsletter Tracking Workflow software.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications :
- 2-3 years of graphic design experience.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- Proficient in Microsoft software, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Experience with Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with and knowledge of Associated Press writing and editing style preferred.
- Some knowledge of Web design, HTML coding, and process printing technology.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately proofread documents; ability to write articles a plus.
- Strong project management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage changing requirements and short timelines as well as multiple overlapping projects at one time.
- Self-motivated.
- Demonstrated ability for working across functional organizations to get the job done.
- Ability to problem solve and offer viable solutions to problems.
- Working ability of general math skills.
- Ability to apply common sense and carry out instructions.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree preferred, major preference : Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or English.
- Experience handling multiple projects and developing processes for delivering various collateral materials in a timely manner.
- Previous experience in working with vendors.
- Strong multi-tasking and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal, writing, and creative development skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines.
- Adobe proficiency (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator); additional graphic design experience a plus.
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
- Associate Press style writing and editing.
- Proficient in English language, spelling, and grammar (AP style).
Physical Requirements & Working Environment :
- Must have finger dexterity for typing / using a keyboard and mouse.
- Ability to move / lift 30 lbs.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to successfully work with a diverse clientele.
- Hired associate will be based out of our Rancho Cucamonga, CA
- Hybrid work schedule may be considered, if desired, after the first 30 days.
- Overtime may occur, based on business needs.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
