Compensation Range : $82,500 - $123,900

Job Purpose
Our EnerSys / ABSL operation based in Longmont, CO is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and optimizing cutting-edge manufacturing processes for the production of state-of-the-art Li-Ion batteries.
You will work closely with a dynamic team on the front lines of space component technology and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviewing flight hardware drawings to ensure design for manufacturability and compliance with internal and external standards
- Supporting new design programs and providing input to complex manufacturing issues
- Generating assembly work instructions for complex tasks
- Preparing and making revision changes to manufacturing documentation and processes to improve product quality and procedures
- Designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing tooling for battery builds and associated systems
- Providing CAD drafting and design support for manufacturing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science degree in related discipline and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams
Desired Experience
- Demonstrated experience authoring Work instructions / travelers
- Use of electronic Manufacturing Execution System (MES) (Factory Logix)
- Spot Welding to AWS 17.2 or equivalent
- Experience with IPC / WHMA-A-620- Cable and Wire Harness assemblies or equivalent
- Experience with IPC J-STD-001- Soldering Requirements or equivalent
- Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Participation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB)
- Experience with new product introduction and transition to production
- Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems
- Goal-oriented and well-structured way of working
- Knowledge of production processes
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of manufacturing and with site management
- Self-starter with strong leadership and demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of aerospace assembly, integration, and test process and requirements
- Experience mentoring Jr engineers and effective delegation of tasks
