SCHEDULE
14 days on, 14 days off Hitch Schedule
12 Hour Days

POSITION OVERVIEW Oil Field Mechanic
By utilizing extensive knowledge of field operations and strong technical skills, the onshore position will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all rotating and mechanical equipment and systems..
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, pumps of various types, reciprocating gas compressors, air compressors, blowers, fans, diesel engines, hydraulic cranes.
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of process valves of various type and design.
- Perform required maintenance, inspection, and repairs on gas and steam turbines
- Must be experienced in safe rigging practices.
- Must be able to read and comprehend drawings (P&ID, mechanical, etc.), vendor data books, and other technical material
- Assist engineering with projects and other mechanical system upgrades
- May be required to perform other job duties outside your discipline
- Maybe required to train and assist less experienced mechanics as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- 4 years in the oil field preferred
- Current Production Safety Systems Training (T-2) certification is preferred.
- Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and be familiar with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Gain continuing education and experience as an instrument and electrical technician through hands-on and formal classroom training
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to work alone
- Must be able to take direction for supervisors
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work 12-hours per day, plus overtime when required
- Highschool Diploma or Relevant Experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The position requires manual dexterity to handle documents and operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, shredders, and computers.
- Also required is performing repetitive motions and extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking for varying lengths of time.
- The position requires interacting and communicating professionally with others via speaking, hearing and writing, learning new tasks, processes and concepts, thinking to solve problems, concentrating on required tasks, distinguishing color and depth perception and reading data, figures, electronic and hard copy documents.
- The position requires frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crawling, crouching, pushing, reaching, pulling, lifting, grasping, fingering, reaching over the shoulders and below the waist, carrying of up to 75 lbs.
while walking, lifting up to 95 lbs. to waist level and lifting up to 65 lbs. over shoulder level, the continuous use of both hands, arms, and feet and the manual dexterity to operate heavy and light tools, equipment, and materials.
- The position requires walking or traversing over and across uneven terrain, accessing areas outdoors and on or around equipment, over or around obstacles or structures such as pipes, low rails, and walls, stooping or bending to reach certain locations, climbing stairs or ladders, and exposure to outside weather conditions.
- The position requires wearing personal protection equipment such as gloves, gas mask, suits, etc. with an average weight of 10-25 pounds.
- Must be able to work for extended periods of time using various personal protective equipment (including SCBA, electrical flash suit, chemical resistant suit, etc.)
- Must be able to utilize swing rope for boat / platform personnel transfers (requires ability to support own body weight while swinging 5 - 10 ft and landing firm
