We are looking to add Machine Operator Apprentice to work 2nd shift from 1PM 9PM Monday Friday.
Reporting to the Production Lead, Operator role involves the following :
- This position will be trained to Operate Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes and mills.
- Learn to perform machine set-ups, adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, on machined parts to specifications set forth in, drawings.
- Checks machined parts for conformance to part prints using basic shop inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, sine plates, etc.)
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
- Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine
- Learn to load program in machine or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base
- Discusses programming opportunities of improvement with supervisor to resolve problems or improve performance.
- Clean machine, tooling, and parts
- Perform machine maintenance
- Clean-up of work area, and other areas of the facility as asked adhering to 5S principles
- May be asked to assist in other plant functions under direct supervision of the shop team lead
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to better a department or company
- Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or
- Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- This position may require long hours and weekend work due to production, rework or customer deadlines
- Experience with CNC Haas lathe is a plus.
Requirements :
- Ability to set up cutting tools and prove out new programs using set up sheets
- 1-2 years of relative experience required
- Experience working with CNC lathes and mills required
