Davidson is actively seeking an Aerospace Engineer knowledgeable in the Missile Systems and Air Defense domains in Huntsville, AL.
This role supports the assessment of specific requirements and conducts engineering research, capability / limitation analysis, and reverse engineering analysis / characterizations of aerospace capabilities.
Analysis, assessments, and products include but are not limited to current and future aerospace technology and systems such as aircraft, spacecraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, and ground control systems to understand capabilities and vulnerabilities.
The ideal candidate will :
- Provide technical engineering support and analysis of offensive and defensive missile systems
- Apply professional knowledge of scientific and technical engineering concepts to assess specific requirements, delineate engineered designs, and develop preliminary and final design plans
- Assess of theory of operations, characteristics and performance, physical characteristics, signatures, vulnerability, and employment of foreign weapons systems
- Support analysis, evaluation, assessment, and documentation of intelligence information on current and future defensive systems, including subsystems, components, and technologies
- Understand and utilize the Integrated Technical Evaluation and Analysis of Multiple Sources (ITEAMS) process to determine a detailed threat design
- Possess an understanding of Threat Modeling Analysis Program digital models, simulations, and hardware representations of defensive systems to assess system capabilities, performance, and vulnerabilities
- Communicate effectively and timely with all stakeholders and leverage relationships to foster support for accomplishments of goals and objectives
- Present findings and recommendations to appropriate groups and help determine actionable steps based on the findings.
- Prepare written, technical reports as required
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with other technical government and contractor engineers assigned to the complex project as required

High Level Role and Responsibilities :
The Aerospace Engineer responsibilities include designing, testing, analyzing, and integrating missile and air defense models in both development and operational environments.
Additional responsibilities include leading threat assessments, providing on-site support to development teams and government customers, developing model design documentation, and ensuring the successful execution of complex engineering projects.
Responsibilities :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 8 years of experience
- Current Secret Collateral and eligible for CI-Polygraph
- Experience defining and developing final detailed threat designs and estimating performance for ground-based radars and missile systems
Desired Competencies / Experience / Certifications
- Extensive experience in air defense weapon systems analysis
- Participation in an ITEAMS project
- Experience supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency and Missile and Space Intelligence Center
- Active DoD TS / SCI with CI-Polygraph
Clearance Requirements :
Currently holds or able to obtain a Top Secret / SCI Clearance
