My client is a well established Biotechnology company specializing in procuring medication for conditions and diseases associated to the neurological systems.
They are seeking a Sr. IP Counsel with large molecule experience to join their Biologics team.
Responsibilities of the IP Counsel :
- Finding discoveries, creating patents, and pursuing patents for biologics and gene therapy
- Executing strategic IP due diligence, including examination of rivals' and possible partners' patent portfolios
- Working and communicating with partners and other external strategic partners
- Examining and negotiating license contracts and any IP provisions in other contracts
- Supporting the development of biosimilars
- Communicating with external counsel
Qualifications of the IP Counsel :
- JD from an established institution
- PhD in genetics, immunology, biochemistry, virology or related discipline preferred OR Master's degree in genetics, immunology, biochemistry, virology or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience
- Large molecule experience necessary
- Strong verbal / communication skills
- This role is in San Diego and requires to go in office 2-3 days a week.*
