Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Assists baker in preparing a variety of custom made bakery items including pastries, breads, and plated desserts. Maintains food safety and sanitation standards for tools, utensils and equipment used for large-scale bakery operation.
Responsible for decorating pastries, frosting cakes and scaling recipes properly.
Responsibilities
- Maintains levels of daily production assignments
- Assists with maintaining daily sanitation standards and logs
- Assists in set up and presentations of desserts, platters, and pastry products
- Maintains and operates equipment according to approved safety standards
- Reports issues with production, equipment, personnel or products to management
- Follow recipes, standards, and guidelines as directed
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
Six (6) months skilled training and / or practical experience in a commercial baking environment
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Culinary certificate in baking from culinary arts program preferred
ServSafe Certification preferred
Preferred Experience
Experience baking pastries and bread in an institutional and / or catering operation

Able to maintain records of output, quantities of ingredients used, and supplies on hand; Able to implement procedures, methods, and activities developed by others;
Able to deal with multiple tasks or projects at one time
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of the types and grades of ingredients used in general pastry and bread making; Knowledge of equipment and methods used in baking;
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards / regulations used for large-scale operations; Knowledge of basic math and food services terminology;
Knowledge of food handling procedures; Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.
e. Microsoft Office suite
