Job Summary
The Contractor Training Specialist is responsible for delivering expert-level product and service training to professional painting contractors, with a focus on enhancing understanding of Benjamin Moore's product performance, application techniques, and the unique value the brand provides. This role is instrumental in helping contractors draw clear connections between Benjamin Moore's offerings and their own business through increased efficiency, improved application outcomes, and stronger profitability. A key objective of this position is to cultivate brand loyalty by equipping end-users with the knowledge they need to confidently choose and recommend Benjamin Moore. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration with the Training Implementation Specialist, ensuring all training efforts are cohesive, market-aligned, and strategically executed.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Market Strategy, Development and Execution
- Collaborate with the sales team to determine market needs and tailor training programs for key, strategic customers.
- Partner with the TIS in each market to ensure alignment of business plans and training strategies for sales reps, retailers and end-users.
- Work with local field sales representatives and sales management to develop product application training plans to support new accounts, critical businesses and key accounts.
- Partner with Benjamin Moore market leaders to conduct annual assessments and quarterly reviews for customers to build and measure contractor training plans, monitor outcomes and effectiveness.
- Conducts needs assessments with contractors to understand what will help drive their business and contribute to the continued development of the contractor training strategy.
Industry intelligence and strategic pillar strategy
Ensures a strong connection with marketing and research and development to align strategy, leverage marketing content, marketing programs and reinforce marketing initiatives.Keeps a pulse on industry information and competitive practices to ensure the contractor training programs are created and delivered to create a strategic advantage for Benjamin Moore.Project management and training delivery
Conduct training programs with a focus on product application for contractors.Utilize available systems & technology to facilitate improved reporting of metrics and communication with internal customers.Regularly collaborates with sales leadership and field sales training teams to align program goals, timelines, and execution strategies, fostering a unified approach across the organization.Work collaboratively with the market TIS and headquarters content development team to amend existing product training program.Secures product application space and follows procedures to set-up and take down materials for training.Understands safety requirements required to maintain a safe and secure environment for the participants and the facility.Qualifications
Requirements
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferredBA / BS college degree preferred, or equivalent industry business experienceExperience with facilitation and delivering trainingNACE, MPI certifications preferredHas in depth knowledge of the paint industry.Industry affiliations or participation with such as MPI, PCA, or othersDemonstrated ability for continuous learning of technical paint product informationAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities while demonstrating a sense of urgencyValid driver's license and good driving record are a mustCompany car provided - 70% travel required - based on market needsHigh tolerance for changing priorities and a genuine sense of urgencyLeverages a strong understanding of contractor business models and pain points to deliver impactful, relevant training that aligns with real-world needs and fosters brand loyalty.Understanding of contractor business needs and job processesExcellent PC (MSOffice, PowerPoint, etc.) and presentation skillsAbility, Willing to travel three to four days a weekMust be willing to work evenings & weekends when necessaryConducting the physical set up and execution of paint demonstrationsMust be able to lift more than 10-50lbsPerforms other duties as requiredNeeds to reside within the area of a Benjamin Moore facility, ideally one with application space-or in a major metropolitan area close to a company office equipped to support training activitiesPay Range
