Manufacturing Electrician
Purpose
The purpose of the manufacturing electrician is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all electrical equipment and systems within the manufacturing facility.
This includes troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with all electrical codes and regulations.
The manufacturing electrician plays a crucial role in minimizing downtime and maximizing production output by keeping all electrical systems running smoothly.
Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees by identifying and addressing potential electrical hazards.
Overall, the manufacturing electrician is essential in maintaining the overall functionality and productivity of the manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Electrician is responsible for providing overall electrical support to our plant operations, production;
manufacturing and building electrical systems to ensure continuous operations.
- Perform Maintenance electrical activities to support Facilities and Operations.
- Experience in troubleshooting, repairs of various types of production & facilities equipment.
- Knowledgeable in equipment electrical (primary) and mechanical (secondary) components.
- Installation of electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment.
- Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeter, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gages.
- Some knowledge of mills, lathes, surface grinders, band saw, drill press, sheet metal cutter and bender, welding.
- Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and production staff to identify and address electrical issues that may impact production.
- Follow all EHS Policies and Safety Procedures and report all incidents immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or trade school program in electrical maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working as an electrician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Valid electrician's license or certification in accordance with local regulations
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and components commonly used in manufacturing equipment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed to address emergencies or minimize downtime in production.
